City of Prior Lake
Project Snapshot
With construction of a new City Hall building, the time was right for the City of Prior Lake to upgrade the quality of audio, video and broadcast technology in their new city council chambers. Through a sophisticated list of components, the multimedia system is capable of functioning as a media-rich presentation boardroom, while the broadcast system deployed enables the City of Prior Lake to digitally record meetings and distribute them live to the public via their local cable access channel.
Standout Features
The room showcases five high-resolution flat plasma displays, with two functioning for audience display, two operating as the council’s confidence monitors and one used as a daily bulletin and meeting display in the main lobby and overflow area. For proper broadcast transmission quality, the intuitive system includes capabilities of scaling images to XGA high-resolution.
Customized for Government
Behind the scenes, the control room and system provides full equipment operability from multiple locations including clerk desk, control room or guest podium, with the additional capability of computer generating names and graphics in real-time to accompany the cable feed. Other custom features include:
- Two podiums (one for staff reports and one for public guest) wired with laptop connections and Crestron control;
- Council table wired for individual laptop connections;
- Individual councilor monitors for viewing presentation displays;
- On/Off microphones for public and sidebar conversations;
- Broadcast system for cable access channel with capacity to program 400 different DVD recordings.
